FAMILY MEDICINE
I see the importance of holding space for caring and healing the whole person, including the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of an individual.
I have lived across the globe, which has shaped my understanding and appreciation of people from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. I deeply value holding space for caring and healing the whole person, addressing emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects. Having completed training in Narrative Medicine I prioritize practicing medicine through a narrative medicine lens, which has allowed me to re-humanize the practice of healthcare. By cultivating narrative competence, I believe medicine transforms from a purely scientific pursuit to an artful and compassionate one.
I have also studied Ayurveda under Dr. Vasant Lad and earned a Foundation Certificate in Ayurveda from the Saraswati Institute of Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy in Portland, Oregon. The principles of this ancient medical science align closely with the core Osteopathic principles I learned in medical school. Bridging these time-honored teachings with modern medicine is integral to the holistic approach in my practice and patient care.
Giving back to the community has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional life. I have had the privilege of mentoring medical students during their family medicine rotations and volunteering at the Borland Free Clinic, where I provide care for underserved populations. These experiences have deepened my commitment to serving with humility and compassion.
In my personal life, I stay active by hiking with my husband and two sons, taking long walks with my dog, and practicing barre3, yoga, and running. Meditation keeps me grounded in self-compassion and in the present moment. As an avid reader and traveler, I embrace adventure and learning—whether through books or journeys shared with my family. Having made many voyages in my lifetime I am happy to make Oregon home.
