Internal Medicine
Every patient—and every diagnosis—is a story.

Like Dr. Lester Baskin’s dad, my father was an orthopedic surgeon. Seeing the impact that he had on his patients always filled me with pride and awe. Hearing someone tell him that their knee felt “good as new,” and seeing the appreciation on their face, made me want to be a doctor too.

My work is a partnership with my patients, and that includes being open to different treatment options—whether they occupy the realm of traditional or alternative medicine. I never underestimate the value of humor in my clinic and patients can expect an upbeat, enthusiastic, and relaxed environment where seeing your doctor is actually an enjoyable experience.

I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1998 and now officially consider myself a Pacific Northwesterner. I love exploring the greenspaces around the city with my family and small, excitable dogs, cooking, reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time with my extended family.

“Dr. Heather Baskin is amazing! She always responds promptly to my inquiries and concerns and is a great listener. I always feel at ease when I go to see her whether it’s for a check-up or a specific issue. The Baskin Clinic in general runs smoothly and efficiently while taking plenty of time to make each patient feel properly cared for. I’ve been seeing doctors at this clinic for over 10 years and plan to stay for life.”
