Family Medicine
I believe in an individualized, whole person approach to health.
I chose to go into osteopathic medicine because of the individualized, whole-person approach. This method has taught me that modern health is a combination of; medical research, the body’s natural ability to heal, and doing what best serves each individual. I’m passionate about family medicine because it allows me to apply this approach of health care to all ages including preconception, newborns, and end of life care. Getting to take care of whole families is truly a privilege and helps me to understand a patient and their health more deeply. I’d love to talk with you about taking care of your newborns and toddlers!
At Baskin Clinic, medicine is truly a partnership with my patients for better health outcomes. Stronger relationships with patients means more understanding of health history and health concerns, and that reduces unnecessary medical testing and procedures in pursuit of health goals.
Some areas of my specialty include: PrEP, pediatrics, sports medicine, osteopathic manipulation, addiction medicine(suboxone), office-based procedures, and Spanish-speaking communities.
I grew up in the Bay Area of California, moved to San Diego for college and back to the Bay Area for Medical School. I moved to Portland for my residency program in Vancouver, WA. Fun fact, when I first moved to Portland I lived in a tiny home, which I also helped to build. After residency, I decided to stay in the Portland area due to the people, nature, and food. Supporting me the entire way has been my Chihuahua-mix, Brownie, who is always up for a hike and has even done the rounds with me in nursing homes. Post-COVID, I’m looking forward to traveling and seeing family more.

“Have had such a wonderful and effortless experience with Dr. Lisa Cuneo. Very professional, attentive, empathetic, efficient and easy to talk to (which can be quite difficult to find haha). Highly recommend.”
